Pregnancy can come with lots of emotions and questions. It may seem confusing and scary right now to think about a potential unexpected pregnancy, but you are not alone.

Before thinking too far ahead, be sure you’re pregnant with a free pregnancy test at Pathway to Hope and get the answers you need to take your next steps.

Common Symptoms of Pregnancy

Some women experience one pregnancy symptom, while some experience multiple. Some of the most common early pregnancy symptoms include the following:

  • Missed period
  • Increased urination
  • Fatigue
  • Moodiness
  • Food aversions
  • Tender, swollen breasts
  • Nausea with or without vomiting

When to Take A Pregnancy Test

Timing is essential when confirming your potential unexpected pregnancy. For the most accurate results, try to take a pregnancy test at least one day after your missed period to be sure. If you don’t wait to take a pregnancy test, it may be harder to detect hCG, the pregnancy hormone.

If you experience irregular periods, it can make the pregnancy confirmation process a bit more challenging. Late periods could be a regular occurrence for you. In this case, take a test 14 days after intercourse since you likely can’t pinpoint your exact time of ovulation.

Even after receiving a positive pregnancy test, confirm your pregnancy test results with a trusted health professional to be sure.

What if My Test is Positive?

If you get a positive pregnancy test result at Pathway to Hope, we offer free, limited ultrasounds to determine viability. After receiving a positive pregnancy test, one of our medical professionals will meet with you and determine if an ultrasound can be provided.
